‘Whims of the Square' series were inspired by contemplating what prompts artists to repeatedly employ a static and stable square in their art; and is it essential for the square to maintain this static nature, or can it be dynamic, evolving, and even playful? Thus, series emerged from a deep-seated desire to push the boundaries of this geometric shape and to have a little play with it myself. Created works show bold black squares blended with round shapes and straight lines on earthy backgrounds, resulting in a whimsical dance of simplicity and intrigue. Each piece invites viewers to pause and reflect on what they’re truly seeing and to unravel what narratives might be hidden in the playful realms of geometry.
